But, What Does It All Mean?

I heard this quote today,
"You can't find the meaning because you're looking for it. Meaning isn't something you find. It's something you give."
I like that. I like things that put the control back in my hands. For better or worse, it's about the choices I make. It means what I let it, or perhaps even make it mean.

My life. My choice. My meaning.

I like that.

And what about those around you? or does "meaning" mean narcissism / grandiosity / egotism. Reading your blog I suspect you are in turmoil between a genetic tendency toward being highly self-centered but tempered with a giving and almost altruistic desire. That must create a lot of turmoil in your thoughts and actions. May your heart be the arbiter of your conflicting thoughts.... Peace

How does giving something meaning for myself taking away from anyone else? Meaning is inherently personal. Two people can both listen to the same song or have a similar experience, and yet it can have drastically different meanings for them based on their perspective and life experience.

This post isn't about mine versus yours. And it certainly isn't about dictating meaning for others.

It's about the passive versus the assertive. Do you wait around, searching for meaning of events that happen to you? Or do you give them meaning by giving thought, taking action and striving for understanding?

The ability of people to read the worst in something always amazes me.

Thanks for the fortune cookie analysis though.

Hey previous blogger...F You. Quartergoddess had been the biggest giver in my life and will always be that way. Read the blog fine but keep your pathetic attempts at philosophical thoughts to those who aren't educated enough to realize that you are just an ass.
